Notice how I have not blogged in forrreeevvverrr??

Oops sorrryyy! I've been crazy busy with my first week of real work and a full weekend of class. Yeah, I said weekend of class. My eye is on the prize - about five months and I will be DONE with my master's degree. It's going to sneak up on me!

Luckily for you, loyal readers, I have been cooking up a storm this week! I've got a lineup of excellent recipes for this week's posts, including baked potatoes that I want to marry and chicken that I could eat three times a day and still crave.

But until I get those posts rolling, I've got a new treasure for your google reader!

One of my best girlfriends of all time writes not one, but TWO blogs that you will definitely want to subscribe to. I met Lauren (cool name!) in college - she was my dorm roomie - I often just refer to her as "roommate"! Somehow the Cal Poly dormitory angels just knew we'd be a perfect match. Among other things, Lauren opened my eyes to Death Cab for Cutie, thrifting, and throwing pottery.  So, as you can conclude from those three items alone, girl's got style. She recently adopted the world's most adventurous doggy (likes to jump from moving vehicles) and moved to Denver.

Lauren writes a style blog over at Pearls Poppies Pinkies Up. She has DIY, fashion, home decor, recipes, and other such style tips and tutorials.

Once you get to know Lauren, you'll want to follow about her life over at her personal blog. She and her husband are really fun, and have I mentioned their ADORABLE doggy, Shelby?
